EXCITING NEW BORA BORA DIVING ITINERARY, began in 2006 ... those were the days, folks ...

An oldie-but-goodie message from the Tahiti Aggressor Dive Crew: Our scenic itinerary starts out in Bora Bora with a checkout dive inside the lagoon at the Aquarium where over 20 Eagle Rays can sometimes be seen. Then, "Tapu" dive site with Black Triggerfish, Unicornfish, Giant Morays, Lionfish, Trumpetfish, Lemon & Black Tip Sharks, & lots of Butterflyfish. Tapu was the second night dive & the Lionfish were out in full force as well as banded Boxer Shrimp & swimming Morays. FAB, FAB, FAB is how "Muri Muri" was described this week as guests were greeted with super visibility & reef sharks at the mooring line. Black Tips, White Tips & Grey Reef Sharks, not to mention Turtles, Morays, Trevally Jacks. We can't get enough of the beautiful hard corals with swarms of Purple Anthias & colorful reef fish sweeting the tops. The itinerary continues on to Raiatea where we dive "Teavapiti Pass" with excellent conditions-seeing 2 Mantas, sharks, Nuidibrachs, Spotted Eagle Rays & more. Then on to Huahine to dive "Horseshoe" which is always visually stunning. There is often one of the most massive Green Morays next to one of the prettiest spotted eels you will ever see. We see gobies dancing not to mention sea turtles & all these colorful reef fish !! Next it is onward to "Tahaa" dive site for an exploratory dive to "Marnie's Mystery Tour" which can be rewarded with Black Tip Sharks, Turtles, columns of hard coral & more then back to Bora Bora on Friday afternoon. We are continuing to enjoy exploratory diving & are amazed at what we are seeing. More to follow later this season, folks ...

VESSEL BACKGROUND

(Text & photos courtesy of Aggressor Fleet):

The Tahiti Aggressor was a 106-foot, 16 passenger, handicapped-diver accessible, catamaran. Amenities included eight double staterooms each with private bath, a salon with entertainment center, wet bar, hot tub & partially covered sun deck. All dives were made from the large dive skiff which is lifted to the main level for easy boarding. Nitrox, rental cameras + rental gear are available on board. The Tahiti Aggressor had 110-volt power on board. Free spots were available for whole & half-boat bookings for the Tuamotu Islands.

After a overnight stay in Papeete, Tahiti, guests boarded a Saturday morning flight for the famous island of Bora Bora. Guests were transferred from the Bora Bora airport to the boat for boarding Saturday afternoon. Dinner was served on board Saturday evening followed by the Captain's briefing which details the exciting week of dive tours ahead. Diving began Sunday morning & ended Friday morning. The crew hosted a cocktail party on board Friday evening. Dinner Friday night was at a local restaurant & is not included in the charter price. Check-out was Saturday morning. Transportation was provided to the Rangiroa airport. *Airfare, hotel stays, taxes & fees, day rooms & dinner Friday evening was not included in the charter rate.

Weather permitting, Tahiti Aggressor dive tours typically would explore the passes & channel entrances, or "corners" of the Bora Bora Atolls which include countless classic sites. Tahiti diving is basically Big Animal Central ! The channels are brimming with big animal activity. Black-tip sharks, silver-tip sharks, eagle rays, dolphin, Napoleon wrasses, schooling barracuda & countless other marine giants crowded those hard coral passes.

This fast-paced, drift diving was for intermediate to advanced divers. A TDI "Pass flying," drift diving certification course was taught to all scuba divers at the beginning of the week. This hard-card TDI course was included in the charter price. Simpy put, Tahiti diving, here in the Bora Bora sector, was not for beginners. These dive tours were fast-paced, exciting & only for fit scuba divers. It's not exhausting scuba diving, just a bit on the exertive side some days; & the currents required scuba divers to be alert, experienced, calm.

Tahiti Aggressor explores spectacular underwater vistas & big critters
that encircle the Tuamotu Islands atolls -- sharks & corals abound.

FUN FACTS about the TAHITI ISLANDS REGION:

Eight luxurious staterooms on the Tahiti Aggressor are located on the main level. Each carpeted stateroom features a queen-sized bed with single berth above, a vanity with lavatory, a large window, individual climate control & private head & shower. Traveling toward the stern of the Tahiti Aggressor, guests enter the large dive deck. This is the area where divers suit up & prepare their gear. Each Tahiti Aggressor diver has his own personal dive station complete with seat & locker. Most dives are made from the high-speed, jet-driven skiff. The 30-foot skiff accommodates all divers. Each diver has a tank rack & seat on the skiff. All tanks are filled in place on the skiff with either air or nitrox. Tahiti Aggressor divers board the skiff at deck level then the skiff is lowered into the water by a hydraulic lift, per standard safe-&-comfortable Aggressor Fleet procedures.

IMPORTANT REMINDER about PRICES & TARIFFS:

All Aggressor Fleet dive package prices listed here are subject to possible change in this steadily evolving travel market. Lodging, side tour & diving prices are traditionally stable, as are live-aboard package prices; however air prices can fluctuate daily. Until air tickets are issued, all airlines reserve the right to change airfares without notice -- an industry standard per FAA rules. Our Tahiti diving experts normally secure excellent wholesale discount air tickets for our clients who book early enough to secure limited seats in the best price categories. Remember please, the federal government has deregulated all U.S.-based airlines, so only they control their pricing -- not any travel professionals. Early is good when seeking the best air ticket rates for your Tahiti diving vacation. The Tahiti live-aboard vacation markets move quickly, & 8-10 months advance deposits are encouraged, always, to ensure your space is secure on the Tahiti Aggressor.

Unless specifically noted, these above Aggressor Fleet scuba diving packages are prices for only the live-aboard portion of your dive trip, in most cases reflecting double-occupancy rooms. On most live-aboards, there will be no triple-occupancy staterooms offered. International air tickets & commuter "island-hopper" seats are always extra above these land costs. Nominal service fees are also extra for air tickets & the dive vessel + side tour components. The baseline tariffs for all clients start at $45 per person for the vessel portion + $35 pp for the air tickets. Late-booking live-aboard clients may receive slightly higher tariffs on the lodging + diving at many of our dive resorts. Solo clients will always pay a single supplement to secure a private stateroom -- normally 65% more than the standard double-occupancy rate for this Tahiti live-aboard.

The preferred payment mode for all of our Aggressor Fleet live-aboards, plus dive resorts, side tours & air ticket specials is by cashier's check or wire transfer in U.S. dollars. All Tahiti live-aboard clients living outside the USA or Canada will need to pay for their dive vacations via direct wire transfer only. No personal checks will be accepted for the live-aboard or airline portion of any reservation. Thank you for your gracious understanding. Our service level is the highest & our prices the lowest in this industry, & thus we need to preserve a reasonable margin. With Tahiti Aggressor , for published-fare air ticket bookings, USDT always accepts Visa & Mastercard. For ultra-discount wholesale air tickets, in packages with live-aboards, USDT accepts only cashier's checks or wire transfers, please.

Remember, all Tahiti diving clients will be asked by local officials overseas, upon departing the airport on your final day, to pay a nominal government departure tax, usually between USD $35 - $45 per client. USDT cannot collect this tax beforehand, so you simply pay it down there, in your host country. Be sure to stash away a little cash for this final moment at the airport, so you'll get your exit visa stamped quickly with no fuss; & away you go. Best of luck with your Tahiti Aggressor dive travel plans. We hope your scuba diving vacation is a safe & satisfying adventure. Blessings & best wishes with ALL your Aggressor Fleet dive vacations on our Tahiti live-aboards.

Best fishes too!
